We did this by shooting Chavez (the guy diving) just once with eighty three cameras: two banks of 40 cameras on each side of him and three motion picture cameras - one attached to one of the 40 camera systems, one above him on a crane, and one for the wide shot at the end. This gave us all the different angles and motion we needed for Chavez. The same camera moves were then repeated with the live-action guys doing their measuring (no Chavez) and the different shots were composited together in 3d and 3d backgrounds were added.
